AJ Masthay Grateful Dead Retrospective Poster
Red Edition of 20
- Red Edition
- 11 Color linocut Print
- Artist Signed and Numbered Edition of 20
This is what happens when you carve a Grateful Dead masterpiece out of a single block.
The Chambers Project called on @zoltron who called on @ajmasthay who called on his shop dog Pumpkin to create an eleven color, hand drawn, hand carved, hand printed master print for this Saturday’s grand opening of 60 Years of the Grateful Dead Retrospective.
AJ Masthay is a master of reduction printing. Some people call it suicide printing since the block breaks down as each new color is carved and printed. One plate. One sequence. No way to reproduce it later.
“Bicycle Day” Limited Edition Textured Foil Paper Print
The “Bicycle Day” painting began during a live painting session with Mars-1 & Alex Grey in San Francisco on April 19, 2012 during a Bicycle Day event. Developed through an exchange between the artists’ studios, and commissioned by Brian Chambers, the work evolved into a fully realized collaboration, uniting Grey’s psycho-spiritual anatomical vision with Mars-1’s multi-patterned abstract dimensionality.
